The event asked for an allegiance
Conquest framed Season 1 progression around a direct choice between Overwatch and Talon. Weekly passes advanced one faction at a time, making the larger story conflict visible in the reward track instead of leaving it only in cinematics and biographies.
Players were not permanently locked to their first answer. After completing the current weekly pass, they could switch sides, preserving the faction identity while allowing the full event to remain practical for collectors.
The reward pool was unusually broad
Blizzard listed 75 base loot boxes, 12 Epic boxes, and seven Legendary boxes across the event, alongside voice lines, cosmetics, weapon charms, titles, and one of two Echo skins. The exact mix gave every week more than a single headline reward.
A five-week structure also let the event carry the season's narrative for longer than a normal shop collection. The faction decision returned whenever a new pass opened, keeping the Overwatch-versus-Talon framing active between major updates.
