Cosmic OWL Skins Rework Three Esports Classics
Widowmaker, Lucio, and Reinhardt received cosmic recolors based on three familiar Overwatch League designs.

Three recognizable skins changed atmosphere
The Cosmic OWL collection returned to established Overwatch League designs for Widowmaker, Lucio, and Reinhardt, then rebuilt their color direction around a space theme. The underlying silhouettes remained recognizable while the finish separated them from their earlier releases.
That choice gave the set a shared identity without requiring three unrelated concepts. Each hero kept the visual language players associated with the original esports skin, but the cosmic treatment made the group read as one collection.
A recolor can still serve an archive
Esports cosmetics occupy an unusual place after their original competitive era. Reworking familiar designs lets Blizzard put them back in front of current players while preserving the connection to Overwatch League history.
The January release was therefore more than a standard three-skin rotation. It showed one way the game could revisit retired esports art without presenting an unchanged rerun as a completely new collection.
