OWCS Korea's final stage sets up a four-team route to Asia
Eight Korean lineups return to the regional race after the country's World Cup victory.
The regional race resumes
The October 1 OWCS Korea preview lays out an eight-team round-robin followed by a single-elimination playoff. The top four advance to OWCS Asia in Busan, where qualification for the World Finals in Guangzhou will be decided. It is a club-team competition, distinct from South Korea's recent World Cup win.
ZETA DIVISION, Crazy Raccoon and T1 remain major reference points in the field. T1 has added GgulTaek to its coaching staff, while Crazy Raccoon is preparing without Moon for this stage. Roster continuity and staff changes need to be considered together rather than assuming the offseason left everything untouched.
Watch the route, not just the favorite
The qualification threshold matters as much as the first-place race. A team can have a meaningful regional campaign by earning one of the four Asia places, then face a different set of opponents and pressures in the continental event. That makes the middle of the standings worth following.
There is a limit to what the World Cup tells us. Players returning from a national team rejoin club lineups with different partners and preparation. The four Asia places make the qualification cutoff important alongside the title race. A preview can identify those pressures and the changed coaching setups without pretending to know the final standings. Club coordination has to be demonstrated again in this regional format.
