Graveyard Games turns deaths into power choices for Halloween
The new limited-time mode combines changing builds with Offerings that influence which heroes join the event roster.
A different relationship between death and progression
Mystery Madness: Graveyard Games is the new Halloween event scheduled for October 6–November 2. Its mode awards power choices through accumulated levels when a hero dies or a round changes. The October 6 notes describe a best-of-three Control format with roles assigned as part of the mode's setup.
That design makes adaptation central to a match. A build can develop differently after successive deaths, and a choice that fits one ability may be less useful after the next combination appears. It is an event-specific experiment, not a new rule for every normal Overwatch queue.
Offerings and the weekly reward cadence
Outside the individual match, challenges provide Offerings that players pledge toward the next additions to the event roster. Ashe, Moira and Winston are the named choices in the preview, and the roster expands as the event progresses. Weekly Event Passes provide their own rewards and milestones.
Check the current week's requirements instead of assuming that a clip from one week describes the complete event. If you want to influence the roster, follow the pledge mechanic as well as your personal reward track. If you mainly want to try unusual combinations, the mode offers a separate reason to play. Those goals can overlap, but voting progress, match strategy and cosmetic completion are not the same measurement.
