Unvaulted Battle Passes are live: old progress carries forward

You can activate one eligible past pass alongside the current Battle Pass, but its original reward list is not restored unchanged.

Where to activate a past pass

The feature delayed earlier in the season is now included in the October 6 update. The Legacy Pass menu lists eligible Unvaulted Battle Passes, and an owned pass can be activated alongside the current season's track. Existing progress carries forward. Only one Unvaulted Pass can be active for progression at a time.

The launch catalog includes legacy Seasons 1–15. The 2026 Season 4 pass is not available at launch and is scheduled for the midseason. Ownership and activation are separate steps: seeing a past track in the menu does not by itself mean your match XP is currently progressing it.

Check eligibility before buying

The revived tracks exclude several original reward categories, including Mythic skins, Mythic Prisms, Overwatch Coins, XP boosts and titles. That makes an old screenshot of a complete Battle Pass an unreliable shopping checklist. Inspect the revised track in the client and identify the cosmetics you actually want before treating the purchase as a way to recover every historical reward.

Parallel progression is the useful part of the feature: returning to an old track does not require abandoning the current one. A good first check is which pass is active, how much progress already exists and whether the remaining eligible rewards justify the purchase for your collection. The acquisition rules are separate from limited-time shop events, so an event ending does not establish that an owned Unvaulted Pass expires.
