Starter builds reduce the first-match tax

Hero Builder was announced as a way to recommend complete Stadium packages instead of asking every player to evaluate the full Armory immediately. Starter builds give a usable direction, while counter recommendations can respond to what the opposing team is assembling.

The feature does not remove choice from the mode. It creates a baseline that can be edited, making experimentation easier because the player begins with a coherent plan rather than an empty list of unfamiliar powers.

The Armory received a visual pass

Blizzard also redrew 70 Armory icons and shifted power opportunities to rounds one, two, four, and six. Those changes improve how quickly a build can be read and how often a match asks players to reconsider its direction.

Vendetta joined Stadium in the same season, expanding the number of kits the system needed to explain. Hero Builder therefore arrived as both an onboarding feature and a practical response to the mode's growing catalog.
