Aim Assist Improvements
With the launch of Season 20, Overwatch 2 will see a notable increase in aim assist, ranging from 6% to 8% depending on the distance to the target. This adjustment is designed to make the game more accessible for newcomers while also providing seasoned players with enhanced customization options. Historically, Overwatch has maintained a lower aim assist percentage compared to other first-person shooters, making this change a significant step towards aligning with player expectations in fast-paced combat scenarios.
Support Role Enhancements
Supports will benefit the most from the upcoming aim assist changes. A new feature called Aim Assist Health Threshold will allow healers to prioritize their healing efforts more effectively. By default, this threshold will be set at 99%, meaning that the aim assist system will only target allies at that health percentage or lower. This adjustment aims to streamline the healing process, ensuring that supports can focus on teammates who truly need assistance.
Customization Options for Players
In addition to the aim assist adjustments, players will gain access to four new sensitivity sliders that will affect turning speed. This feature will allow players to fine-tune how quickly the game responds to their movement inputs, which is particularly beneficial for heroes that require quick turns and target changes, such as Cassidy, Hazard, or Winston. These enhancements are expected to improve the overall gameplay experience, especially for those who play on console.
