Nostalgic Gameplay with Overwatch Classic: Moth Meta
The midseason update brings back one of the most iconic gameplay styles in Overwatch history with the Overwatch Classic: Moth Meta. Running from February 4 to 17, this mode highlights Mercy's legendary 'Moth' gameplay, featuring her rapid Resurrect ability that can turn the tide of team fights. Players can expect to see a return of heroes like DPS Doomfist and Symmetra, alongside beloved maps such as Oasis, Eichenwalde, and Junkertown. This mode not only revives classic strategies but also offers players the chance to complete special challenges for exclusive rewards.
Introducing 6v6 Min 1, Max 3 Mode
In addition to the Moth Meta, players can engage in a new experimental mode called 6v6 Min 1, Max 3, available from January 21 to February 3. This mode allows for a structured team composition while providing flexibility for players to switch roles mid-match. It aims to blend the nostalgia of the original six-player format with modern gameplay dynamics, creating an engaging experience that encourages strategic thinking and adaptability.
Mythic Lead Rose Ashe Weapon Skin
The midseason update also features the release of the Mythic Lead Rose Ashe Weapon Skin. This skin, inspired by Ashe's aristocratic background, evolves through four levels, each introducing new visual and auditory effects. Players can experience a reactive blooming rose texture, a taunting flourish, and a striking petal-burst kill effect as they progress through the skin's levels. This weapon skin not only enhances gameplay aesthetics but also embodies Ashe's transformation from a refined socialite to a daring outlaw.
Lunar New Year Celebrations
Coinciding with the midseason update is the Lunar New Year event, celebrating the Year of the Snake. The Mischief & Magic game mode returns, featuring a hide-and-seek style gameplay where Rogues transform into props to evade Knights. Players can also enjoy other festive modes like Capture the Flag and Bounty Hunter, along with exclusive Lunar New Year-themed cosmetics. The event runs until February 3, providing players with ample opportunity to engage in the festivities and unlock unique rewards.
