OWCS 2026 Sets a Three-Stage Road to World Finals
The 2026 circuit keeps open qualification at its core while routing each stage toward a global live event in Tokyo, Paris, or Seoul.

Three stages feed three international events
OWCS entered 2026 with a year-long structure built around three regional stages. Stage 1 leads to Champions Clash in Tokyo, Stage 2 feeds the Midseason Championship in Paris, and Stage 3 determines the field for the World Finals in Seoul.
North America and EMEA retained open qualifiers and promotion-relegation tournaments. Partner teams received direct entry into the first regular season, but the format did not make those positions permanent: weak results could still send an organization into a relegation bracket later in the year.
Open qualification remained part of the circuit
The first NA and EMEA open qualifiers were scheduled for February 21-22 and February 28-March 1. Regular-season round robins then narrowed each region to four-team playoff brackets, while Asia and China followed their own regional paths into the same international events.
That combination preserved a route for unsigned teams without removing the stability of the partner program. It also gave every stage a clear consequence: qualification, relegation pressure, or a ticket to a global bracket.
The calendar stretched through December
Champions Clash was set for May 22-24, the Midseason Championship for July 29-August 2, and the World Finals for December 2-6. The long gaps between global events left room for regional qualifiers and regular seasons rather than compressing the circuit into one short tournament window.
For viewers, the announcement established the stakes before the first official match. For teams, it made consistency across the full year as important as one strong weekend.
