Four quarterfinals are locked
The Busan Group Stage reduced the World Cup field from 16 teams to eight. The quarterfinal bracket pairs Saudi Arabia with Spain, Germany with Sweden, the United States with South Korea and France with Australia.
The four group winners — Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Germany and France — were matched against runners-up from other groups. That makes the USA–South Korea series the immediate heavyweight draw.

Busan produced one major bracket surprise
France's 3–2 win over South Korea sent France through as Group D's top seed and pushed the host nation into the United States matchup. Spain's sweep of Canada decided the final Group C spot on map differential.
The other qualifiers were more direct: Sweden won Group A, Saudi Arabia won Group B and Germany survived the three-team tie to lead Group C.
The title will be decided over two days
The World Cup quarterfinals are scheduled for September 12 at BlizzCon. The semifinals and championship match follow on September 13.
Every qualified team now has several weeks to prepare for a single-elimination bracket where one bad series ends the run.
