Sierra connected Grand Mesa to the current conflict

Sierra joined the damage roster as the former head of security at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa. Her search for answers about her mother, the first test subject in the Soldier Enhancement Program, tied her directly to Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes.

Her kit combined a rifle with Dorothy, a remote traversal and combat drone. The character's background positioned her as both a capable new Overwatch recruit and a route into older secrets the organization had not resolved.

Operation Grand Mesa made lore part of progression

A three-week event unfolded across four tracked story beats. Matches and curated challenges unlocked the next pieces of Sierra's history rather than placing the entire account in one external story.

Rewards included voice lines, an icon, name card, title, spray, tier skips, and loot boxes. Operation Grand Mesa ran from the season launch through May 4.

Season 2 rebuilt several surrounding systems

Post-Match Accolades returned with MVP voting and an animated spotlight. Antarctic Peninsula received cleaner routes, wider engagements, and stronger identities for its three Control points.

The season also added Mythic Volted Overdrive Soldier: 76 and the Sumi-ichimonji Genji weapon, along with Stadium updates and selected Perk integrations. Sierra was the headline, but Summit was structured as a broad systems release.
