Matchmaking Adjustments

Blizzard has acknowledged the challenges players have faced in the new Stadium mode, particularly regarding matchmaking. To enhance the experience, the company is implementing a patch on June 3 that will address the matchmaking rating (MMR) calibration. Initially, an internal modifier intended for new players was mistakenly applied to all players, leading to wider match disparities. This adjustment aims to create a more balanced competitive environment as players settle into their MMR.

Skill Bonus Increase and Challenge Extension

In a recent hotfix, Blizzard increased the Stadium Ranked Skill Bonus from 25 to 50 for Pro, All-Star, and Legend ranks. This change is designed to reward players who strive to reach the All-Star tier, making it easier to achieve top ranks and earn the coveted All-Star Legendary Juno skin. Additionally, the challenge to earn this skin has been extended through the end of Season 17, providing players with more time to climb the ranks.

Hero Performance and Future Changes

Blizzard is closely monitoring hero performance within Stadium and plans to implement changes to ensure a more even playing field. Notably, the new hero Freja has been identified as a potential source of frustration for players. To address this, an anti-air item will be introduced in Season 17, alongside recent adjustments aimed at making Freja easier to manage in gameplay.
