July 30 Patch Halves Quick Play Hacked's Healing Penalty

The patch belongs to the 6v6 experiment

Overwatch's July 30 update is deliberately narrow. These numbers apply to the limited Quick Play Hacked test and Open Queue during the event weekend; they do not replace the balance values in the game's other established queues.

The central experiment is more available healing in a two-Tank environment. The in-combat healing reduction falls from 30% to 15% for every hero, while the ultimate-charge reduction for damaging or healing Tank targets rises from 20% to 40%.

Subroles lose part of their self-sustain

Blizzard offsets the broader healing increase by trimming several subrole passives. Bruiser movement speed drops from 20% to 15%. Initiator healing falls from 50 to 40, although its cooldown improves from five seconds to four.

Flankers receive 50 additional health from Health Packs instead of 75, and Medic healing conversion drops from 40% to 30%. The direction is consistent: team healing becomes stronger, while passive self-sustain becomes less dominant.

Four Tank cooldowns get faster

Domina's Barrier Array cooldown falls from 17 seconds to 15, with its duration shortened from eight seconds to seven. Hazard's Jagged Wall moves from 15 seconds to 13, and Mauga's Overrun moves from seven seconds to six.

Ramattra receives the largest cooldown reduction. Void Barrier drops from 16 seconds to 13, while its duration falls from four seconds to three. Doomfist is the exception to the cooldown pattern: The Best Defense now grants 30 shields instead of 25.

Faster tools, shorter windows

The Tank changes are not simple durability buffs. Blizzard is trading longer defensive windows for more frequent decisions, an approach intended to reduce dead time without filling every fight with overlapping barriers.

Because the patch is limited to the test environment, its real significance is the data it produces. These values can be discarded, revised or used as a starting point for future 6v6 tuning after the weekend ends.
